A 360° evaluation of all ingredients, assessing potential impacts on humans, aquatic life, and ecosystems.

What This Really Means

**MADE SAFE®** is the first comprehensive human health-focused certification in the United States for personal care, baby care, household, and other everyday products. While many labels focus on what's *in* a product, MADE SAFE is unique in its deep focus on what a product should *never* contain.

To earn the MADE SAFE seal, every single ingredient in a product must be screened against a comprehensive list of over 6,500 known or suspected harmful chemicals. This includes substances known to cause cancer, reproductive and developmental harm, behavioral disorders, endocrine disruption, and damage to aquatic life and ecosystems.

The screening process is a genuine scientific evaluation, not just a checklist. MADE SAFE researchers assess each ingredient using peer-reviewed science, government and regulatory databases, and authoritative lists from leading health and environmental organizations. They look at not just the ingredient itself, but also how it's processed, what impurities it might carry, and how it might behave in combination with other ingredients.

For consumers, the MADE SAFE seal means you can pick up a product and know—with scientific backing—that it has been thoroughly screened for the chemicals that matter most to your health and the health of the planet.
